We are gearing up for another growing season! This year is going to be even bigger than last year!
We had always wanted to start a garden, but never felt like we had the time. With us both working retail, we never seemed to get time off together to get the job done. So in 2020, even in the middle of a pandemic, we decided to jump into the deep end and create a 20’x20’ garden space. We had some trials and tribulations that year, but it also taught us some areas to improve on.
This year we have a 20’x30’ garden space and are planning on filling it with all sorts of goodies. Our herb selection include: basil, dill, cilantro, rosemary, thyme, spearmint, peppermint, and lavender. Our veggie selection will include: broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, lettuce, kale, bell peppers, jalapeños, tomatoes, beans, peas, cucumbers, corn, watermelon, potatoes, onions, and garlic. I am probably forgetting something, but you will know definitely when we get our seeds. Next weekend our favorite local nursery will open its doors and they had an excellent seed selection last year, so that’s where we will be getting most of our seeds from.
We can’t wait to begin this journey of creating a backyard garden once again this year, and hope you will come with us on our journey.
