When I was just a little girl I remember helping my Grandpa harvest the green beans from the garden. I also remember ’taste testing’ them as I plucked them from their stems. I think I ended up eating more than what was officially harvested.

Well fast forward to today and I’m growing green beans and wax beans in the same space that my Grandpa had his garden when I was a small child. And if you guessed that I still eat straight out of the garden, you would be correct!

In fact just this morning we both wandered the garden to see what was growing or nearing harvest and I plucked a small handful of both beans and started enjoying them right in the garden.

The green beans are slowly maturing as they are stuck between the tall corn and tomatoes, but I’m excited for the wax beans to continue to grow and harvest them in the coming weeks.
